Welcome to RFFL

Robots, no matter the size, must interact and navigate the forces imposed by their physical environment.
We strive to understand the fundamental dynamics of fast locomotion in biological systems, largely insects,
and translate this to microrobots. Our research focuses on locomotion, actuation, and design of synthetic
robot systems, guided by the biomechanics and fundamental physics of biological systems.

We are inspired by the diversity of insects, that are capable of fast locomotion, high speed striking, and even jumping. Our research expertise spans robotics, microfabrication, biomechanics, functional morphology, dynamic modeling, and control.
